My style

Honest moments. Cinematic portraits.

Documentary wedding photography that tells the real story of your day, with dreamy, emotion-led portraits that celebrate the two of you.

I photograph your wedding as it actually happens: the people, the feelings and the little moments in between.

01 Documentary at heart

The story of your day, as it unfolds

My style is documentary first. Rather than working through a checklist, I’m looking for the photographs that tell the story of your day: what happened, who was there and, most importantly, how it felt.

That means watching, anticipating and being in the right place just before something happens. Your dad seeing you for the first time. A happy tear you didn’t expect. Your best friends losing it when you walk in wearing your dress.

02 Real emotion

Faces, gestures and the people around you

Your wedding isn’t only about the two of you. I’m always watching your wedding party and your guests too: the expressions, the hugs, the hand on a shoulder, the laughter during the speeches. Those interactions are what make your gallery feel like your day.

Guests cheering and dancing as the party gets going at Hoar Cross Hall

The best moments happen when nobody’s performing for the camera.

So I keep a quiet, respectful distance. I work unobtrusively, often shooting through flowers, doorways or the crowd, so people forget I’m there and just get on with enjoying themselves. You get the real thing, not a reaction to a lens.

Your guests, too

Happy to grab a photo for anyone

Weddings bring together people who don’t often get to see each other. If a guest would like a photo with their family, their partner or an old friend, they just need to ask. I’m always happy to step in for a quick picture, then get back to the day.

It’s often the photos of your grandparents, cousins and oldest friends that become the most treasured years later.

03 The portraits

Dreamy, cinematic and all about the two of you

This is the part I love most. My portraits are cinematic in style: soft, shallow depth of field, beautiful light and a background that melts away so all that’s left is the two of you.

They’re intimate and emotion-led rather than posed for show. Foreheads together, a whispered joke, a cuddle in the low evening sun. The aim is photographs that celebrate your connection and feel like a still from your own film.

04 Gentle direction

A little guidance, then I let you be you

You don’t need to know how to pose. I direct minimally and naturally: I’ll find the light, put you somewhere that works and give you a gentle prompt or two. Then I step back and let your genuine interactions and feelings take over.

The photographs I love most nearly always come from the moments in between, when you’ve forgotten about me and are just enjoying each other.

What you’ll get

  • Real laughter and real cuddles
  • Gentle prompts, then I step back
  • Time to just be together
  • Portraits that look like you

What you won’t

  • Stiff, stuffy poses
  • Long lists of set-ups
  • Being told to “say cheese”
  • Hours away from your guests

05 The details

All the little things you chose with love

I really enjoy photographing the details: the flowers, the shoes, the rings, the stationery and the finishing touches you spent months deciding on. I give them the same care as everything else, with soft light and a clean composition, so they sit beautifully alongside the story of your day.

Let’s tell the story of your day

The best way to get a feel for my style is to see a whole wedding from start to finish. Have a look through some real weddings, then tell me about your plans.
