Easy-going, all day
I’m calm, friendly and very hard to fluster. If the timings slip or the weather turns, I adapt quietly and keep things moving. Your day sets the pace, not my shot list.
What it’s actually like having me photograph your wedding: how I work on the day, how every photograph is edited, and how they find their way back to you.
Most couples tell me they’re nervous about being photographed. By the end of the morning, most of them have forgotten I’m there, and that’s exactly the idea.
I’m there to capture your day as it really happens, not to run it. Quietly, warmly, and always with an eye on the moments you’ll want to remember.
I’m calm, friendly and very hard to fluster. If the timings slip or the weather turns, I adapt quietly and keep things moving. Your day sets the pace, not my shot list.
Weddings are busy, and I’m happy to help with more than photographs. Pinning a buttonhole, straightening a veil, rounding up a missing groomsman or finding a tissue before the speeches. If I can help, I will.
I won’t march you around for hours or bark poses at your guests. I’d rather blend in, watch for the real moments and step in with gentle direction only when it helps.
Your wedding, your way. I’ll check in with you through the day, suggest ideas when the light is good or I spot a great backdrop, and we’ll make the most of it together.
You know the people and the plans. I know the light, the timings and where to stand. Put the two together and the day looks after itself.
We’ll have a proper chat about your plans, the people who matter most and the photographs you’d love. Then we’ll work out a timeline that gives you great light without eating into your day.
Mostly I’m quietly documenting the day as it unfolds. For group photos and a short portrait session, I take the lead so they’re quick, easy and painless.
Cards are backed up the moment I get home, and you’ll have a handful of edited previews within a week, while the day is still fresh.
I shoot on Canon mirrorless cameras with dual card slots. Every photograph is written to two memory cards at the same moment, so if a card ever failed, there’s an identical copy waiting on the other.
When I get home, before I do anything else, the cards are backed up. Your wedding only happens once, so I keep your photographs as safe as humanly possible.
The lights go down, the coffee goes on, and the real work begins.
I edit in Adobe Lightroom, the modern darkroom. It starts with the cull: a full day is a few thousand frames, and I go through every one of them to choose the photographs that tell your story best.
Then the edit. I start from my own look and fine-tune each photograph by hand: white balance, exposure, skin tones, crops. The aim is a gallery that feels natural, consistent and timeless, so it still looks right in thirty years.
Blinks, near-duplicates and the frame where Uncle Pete walked in front: gone. You get a considered collection, not a hard drive full of every click.
True-to-life colour, flattering skin tones and gentle contrast. No heavy filters or trendy effects that will date in a couple of years.
Bright bridal suites, dim barns and blue-hour courtyards all edited to sit together, so your gallery reads as one story.
Your whole day, in one beautiful place.
Your photographs arrive in your own private online gallery. It’s simple to use, looks lovely on a phone or a laptop, and makes it easy to download, share and print everything.
